Subject: Carriage Hills: Eagan Stands to Lose More Open Space

Dear Friends of Patrick Eagan Park,

Over the course of the last two years, we've gone from positions arguing that Eagan needs a fourth golf course to this latest unfortunate development, shared by a Friend of Patrick Eagan Park:

"It has come to my attention that Carriage Hills golf course is up for sale. The owners are saying that there is a developer that wants to buy the property and that they will be building houses on this land. The owners claim that the golf course is losing money. They also say that if the Eagan City Council turns down the re-zoning, they will take it to court and win. Eagan wanted a golf course, here is an opportunity for the city to purchase an existing one.

"We hate to see all of this beautiful open space go away. There are many deer, fox, coyotes etc that will be displaced. Not to mention all of the beautiful trees. We would like to somehow get this information out to the people of Eagan. Especially those who will be directly impacted."

If people wish to make their voices heard to members of the Eagan City Council, now is the time.

The e-mail addresses and phone numbers of Eagan City Council members can be found on the bottom of the following link (the phone number listed for the Mayor is no longer current). We will share further developments on this topic as they become available.
