An Open Letter to the Citizens of Eagan,
the Eagan City Council, and
the Mayor of Eagan

From the Carriage Hills Coalition
Thursday, May 19, 2005

A Dakota County District Judge has ordered the City of Eagan to change its Comprehensive Plan to allow the development of one of Eagan's last remaining green spaces, Carriage Hills Golf Course.

The city has less than 30 days to file an appeal or it will be forced to either change its comprehensive plan or pay an unknown but undoubtedly unreasonable price for the property.

THIS RULING, IF WE DON'T ACT NOW, AFFECTS OUR ABILITY TO PROTECT THE REMAINING GREEN SPACES IN EAGAN FROM DEVELOPMENT.

CONTACT THE CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS AND MAYOR AND VOICE YOUR CONCERN. OUR CITY MUST APPEAL THE DETERMINATION OF THE DISTRICT COURT AND DEFEND THE POWER OF OUR COMPREHENSIVE PLAN TO PROTECT GREEN SPACE.

We encourage all concerned citizens to email, fax, telephone, write, or visit the City Council Members, Judge, and Mayor using the below contact information. You may also wish to sign the bottom of this form and send it to the Council Members and Mayor.

Sincerely,
The Carriage Hills Coalition, member of the Eagan Open Space Coalition
