"Friends" Thanks Local Farmer for His Generosity

Dear Patrick,

This letter is long overdue. On behalf of Friends of the Eagan Core Greenway, we would like to express our deepest appreciation for the leadership and foresight you demonstrated last Fall by donating the development rights (via a conservation easement) on the 34 acres in the northwest corner of your property. Thanks to you, future generations of Eagan residents, including our children, Kara, Luca, Darcy and John, will be able to enjoy this open space--forest, prairie, wetlands, and Hurley Lake--without having to worry about unscrupulous developers trying to "cash in" on it.

Secondly, we would like to take this opportunity to send you our most sincere best wishes for the coming year, in particular, concerning your interest in preserving more of the historic McCarthy Family farm. We hope that the various regional funding agencies will be able to provide you with the levels of support you need in order to preserve this incomparable local sanctuary.
