Carriage Hills Should Remain a Golf Course

To the editor:

In the January 2004 issue of Money magazine, Woodbury was named the No. 1 "Hottest" town in the central United States. The first reason cited was the 1,600 acres of parkland.

This is an issue that the city and the residents of Eagan need to consider, as the Carriage Hills golf course has a pending purchase agreement to a developer. We need to keep Carriage Hills as a golf course for the residents of Eagan and all of the Twin Cities.

To change Carriage Hills to a proposed 720-unit development seems to only greatly benefit two people, the seller (Ray Rahn) and the buyer (Wensmann Homes).

We need to keep Carriage Hills golf course designated as a public facility of Eagan's Comprehensive Guide Plan now and forever.
