Park Walk Activities Special for Children

To the editor:

I wanted to thank the members of Patrick Eagan Park Preservation Committee (PEPPC) for a wonderful time at their event "A Walk in the Park." The activities provided for children excited my child. She made a small project, went on a scavenger hunt and hiked through the beauty of Patrick Eagan Park. She even relished a hot dog sold by the Boy Scouts. My husband and I enjoyed the glorious autumn colors and the information shared by area naturalists and the Audubon Society during our tour.

I hope the city has the sense to make this "walk" an annual event. This event brought our community together. More than once, I heard people introducing themselves to new and familiar faces.

I hope to continue to see Patrick Eagan Park used in this way. Our family would love to see the park be further developed into a nature-type center with classes offered for the whole family. This event also introduced us to the Art House and their classes.

Thanks to PEPPC for a fun and informative event. You certainly could not have been blessed with a more perfect day.

Grace Meininger
Eagan
