Eagan--The nonprofit group Friends of the Eagan Core Greenway has presented the Caponi Art Park Foundation with more than $3,000 in private donations, capping a two-and-a-half month fundraising campaign for the Eagan art park. The park's owners, Tony and Cheryl Caponi, have been trying for several years to secure the 60-acre park's future as undeveloped public space. The park still needs some $190,000 to round out a preservation plan. Jack Conrad, an organizer with Friends of the Eagan Core Greenway, said the support shown by more than 100 donors will go a long way in helping to secure the grant money the park is seeking.
